Aigle - AIGLE was founded by an American living in Paris in 1853. He decided to use a patented process of rubber vulcanisation for the manufacture of boots. Thus the "a l'aigle" brand was born as a tribute to the American Eagle.
AIGLE has become the largest manufacturer of rubber boots in Western Europe with a production capacity of over one million boots per year. Today the AIGLE factory is located in Chatellerault, near the Loire Valley.

At the same time as manufacturing boots for outdoor activities from hunting to sailing, in the 1980's AIGLE diversified into shoes and clothing. Blue Salamander is proud to be selling AIGLE's functional, technologically advanced ladies lifestyle clothing and footwear (including lovely wellies for women and children).
